Beware - protected species on site
When developing any site, large or small, nearly all creatures are now protected by law from harm. Badgers even have an Act to themselves.
The planning department might not mention slow-worms, bats, badgers, great crested newts, nesting birds (and more) but this does not mean they are not on your site - they nearly always are and, they are protected by a wide range of UK, European and International law.
Additionally, they all are protected in different ways at different times of the year.
