Briefing Note 7

Balancing Business and the Environment

Planning Application? - Consider the environmental implications early

  • Consultation and Appraisal at an early stage will not only bring to light issues that will be raised in the planning application stages but could also save a great deal of money, time, inconvenience and frustration.

  • No-one can afford to ignore the environmental concerns today. Authorities are far more sensitive to them, conservation groups are far more aware. Get the facts on your side. Get the options ready. Examine the implications of a development early and make sure you and/or your client have the recommendations ready which satisfy the authorities, conservation groups and the developer.

  • Working in harmony with the environment need not mean losing out on commercial interests. The two can go hand in hand. We are uniquely placed to make sure this happens. By being completely independent we are neither biased towards the authorities or the developers, but we will carry out a completely independent review of the impact of any development on the environment.

  • By commissioning an independent report at the early stages, you will get the facts, the practical solutions, the ideas, the costs, and the recommendations to make sure that business interests and the environment are balanced.

  • We have built a strong reputation for providing high quality and meticulous support - with extensive project experience in:

      • Industrial and amenity developments
        and much more.

We have the expertise. We have the reputation. Heading the team is Ron Allen, Principal Partner and a well respected Environmental Consultant and Chartered Biologist with qualifications and major experience in Geology, Soil Science, Landscape Science, Applied Ecology and Hydro-ecology.

In the last few years there has been a tremendous increase in public awareness of environmental concerns, and pressure from governments, local authorities and private organisations to respond to this is growing. The new environmental legislation from the European Community and the UK means that companies have to comply or face heavy financial penalties.

We can help businesses and government bodies to plan and build whilst at the same time create and preserve natural habitats for all of us to enjoy.
